Intuition: the Seventh Sense

INWARD SKY

You are the soul, the universe,
and what animates the universe. …
Why cry for what is closer than voice? …
Prophets come and go for one reason, to say,
Human beings, you have a great value
inside your form, a seed. Be led
by the rose inside the rose.

The Willingness to Awaken

THE POWER OF A GROWTH MINDSET

You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean, in a drop.” ~RUMI

A growth mindset is not something to obtain.
It is a vantage point from which to come. You can cultivate a growth mindset
by being open to what you haven’t heretofore understood
about any particular area of interest.

Are You a Leader in Your Life?

I just returned from spending two weeks traveling with two friends in Ireland. We’ve known each other for over a decade but never traveled together. We went to celebrate our birthdays and to scout out the area to lead a women’s only empowerment retreat.

I love these two people. They love me.

All three of us are highly trained coaches. We even had a phone call prior to leaving to talk about our expectations, how we liked to travel, etc., In short, we did everything we could to have a great time, and we did!

Clear Vision

"Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart.

Who looks outside, dreams.

Who looks inside, awakens."  ~ Carl Jung

“ The willingness to “deal” with the inner transmutation process, the willingness to deal with one’s inauthenticities and one’s own inner egoic status quo … is the true work, and once undertaken, the Infinite Intelligence inherent [with]in … unfolds us. …

The Gift of Cameron

I met Cameron when he was 11.

He was in remission from cancer, but was still dealing with the physical effects of the grueling treatment he’d received for years. Cameron had endured more than his share.

His mom hoped I could help Cameron with some of the worries he still carried in spite of the cancer being gone.

I was nervous. How could I help this little guy who had experienced so much pain? What could I possibly contribute? My training didn’t seem like it could be enough for him.

My Truth About Bullying

When I was in 4th grade, I bullied someone.

So hard to admit this, but it’s true.

The girl I bullied was very pretty. She had long, curly, gorgeous locks. Her stay-at-home mom put her hair in a bow each day. Her clothes were new and clean and pressed, many of them hand-made by her mom. She was quiet and sweet. A living doll. In my young mind, she had the whole of her mom’s attention.

Why Feeling Guilty is a Waste of Time

Americans love to feel guilty.

Unfortunately, it’s often for the wrong reasons.

Michael Pollan wrote in In Defense of Food: An Eater’s Manifesto“He showed the words “chocolate cake” to a group of Americans and recorded their word associations. “Guilt” was the top response. If that strikes you as unexceptional, consider the response of French eaters to the same prompt: “celebration.”

This Life is Important

Life is difficult to discern.

The mix of wonder and suffering is confusing. And there is so much put upon us, shaping our thinking and experiences. It’s hard to know where the outside influence stops and the inner prison begins. But every now and again, the paradox acts as a signpost of sorts, revealing the magnitude of being born into existence and parting therefrom.
