There is no such thing as a stranger—we just haven’t met yet.

As you know by now, here at evox, we are all about creating happier, healthier, and well informed individuals. We have broken it down into 7 categories of wellness, and Community (that’s me!) is one of them.

Welcome! My name is Krista, and here at evoxCommunity I will be sharing stories with you from people all over the world who have made the decision to actively participate in community. I will also be sharing unique ways in which you can get involved too. Whether it’s cooking a meal for a sick neighbor, starting a hiking group, or joining bigger communities like Habitat for Humanity, Invisible Children and Green Wish, social wellness is all around us.

Community, or social wellness simply put is: nurturing yourself and your relationships with others.

Check this out, research shows that healthy relationships are a vital component of health.
- People who have a strong social network tend to live longer.
- The heart and blood pressure of people with healthy relationships respond better to stress.
- Strong social networks are associated with a healthier endocrine system and healthier cardiovascular functioning.
- Healthy social networks enhance the immune system's ability to fight off infectious diseases.

I came across a quote once that really stuck with me. It said, “men define their personal success by their financial situation, and women define their success by the positive relationships they have.” I don’t believe this is entirely true. Although some might say men do tend to relate personal success to financial gain, the truth of the matter is, EVERYONE, no matter who you are, finds joy in creating positive relationships with other human beings.

Community or social wellness encompasses many different aspects. It will always starts with yourself, and then comes your family and inner circles, then your community, then society, and finally the world. So, I decided to check in with myself first. I asked myself the following questions: What communities do I actively participate in? Am I open to others? Am I kind? How do others view me?

Then I began to look at my inner circle of family and friends. I realized I knew many people in my life that are involved with community one way or another, and then I realized something else, they’re all happy, they all love what they do and they are all making a difference in the lives of others. Stay tuned; I will be introducing you to some of these incredible people very soon.

I want to know you. I want to share your story. I want to know what community you are apart of and how it has affected you. If you feel community is lacking in your life, I want you to ask yourself why, and what do you plan to do about it? I want to go on this journey of positive change through social wellness with you, and help you find happiness within yourself, your family, your community, and your world. All that is required is a positive, accepting, and open attitude. Let’s start to create positive relationships with one another.

Community is just one category of wellness, and I encourage you to start incorporating ALL of the categories into your world. It won’t happen overnight, I am still working on it. I practice yoga, I hike with my dogs, and I try to eat as healthy as possible. Recently we got baby chicks so we can have our own eggs! I will keep you posted on how this goes…

What I love most about Community is that overlap it already has with the other brands. Whether it is Evolve, Living, Move, or Nourish, there is strength in numbers, and the more people sharing and communicating about their ideas and beliefs, the more we will accomplish together.

I am so happy to be representing the Community brand for evox! I look forward to getting to know our subscribers and I promise to provide you with relevant, new information not only about Community but all the categories of wellness that evōx has to offer. My hope is for us all to become happier individuals and more informed decision makers when it comes to our health, social wellness, and the environment.

Peace & Love.
