Deal with email in batches, 2-3 times a day.

Let’s face it. Email will suck up all the time (and more) you have in a day if you don’t do something about it.

You really do NOT have to jump on every single incoming piece of email as soon as it lands in your inbox.

Don’t you have actual work to do?

So, set up some times you will review everything that has come in. Let people who need to know how you will be handling it.

Then shut it off and focus on your own agenda of tasks.

How many of you are working from a schedule?

Some kind of schedule?

There are many different ways to approach your schedule.

Some of you, I am sure, would rather be very spontaneous. So, your schedule is most likely kept fairly open, with just critical, time-based items listed (doctors appointments, birthdays, events).

Others of you have the kind of work where virtually every minute of your day is tightly planned and scheduled. If you lost your calendar (paper, electronic) you would probably panic!

Why It Pays to Bring Your Lunch to Work

I bring my lunch to work every day except for the occasional Friday when I go out with my coworkers.  This is pretty hard for me because restaurants are the Achilles heel of my household budget, well, that and travel.  I love a nice meal, especially one with friends, so I figured that I would make sure the view was worth the climb.

I can now definitively say that it is worth it for me to bring my lunch to work.  I am probably saving about $1,800 per year by bringing my lunch to work.
