Eco-Friendly Stain Remover Hacks You Should Know

Clothes get dirty. It’s just a part of life. However, many of us just assume that the only way to get rid of stains is by throwing our clothes in the wash. First of all, that’s time-consuming; it’s also a waste of energy, can be expensive over time, and it hurts the environment! So, rather than going through the hassle of removing stains in the wash, you could remove them using basic items you probably already have in your pantry.

How to Use Fewer and Healthier Chemicals in the Home

Intro:

Like most first-time well-to-do western parents, I get a vague sense that we’re hyper-obsessing. Along those lines, one of the first things we tried to do after we found out [we were expecting] was to reduce exposure to toxic chemicals in our household, food, and personal care products.

James Flannel Guy ROI's picture

Portland, Oregon-based Flannel Guy ROI is a working dude and family man that likes flannel shirts and wants to achieve financial independence a little sooner than most, particularly by making smart spending decisions and living intentionally.

His overall idea is to look at spending decisions as investments: what decisions will return the most value to you over time?

Each scenario is evaluated over a 10-year horizon with the following summary statistics:

Present value – what is the total value of your investment and expected returns in today’s dollars?
Return on investment (ROI) – how much of your original investment will you make back?
Payback period – how long will it take you to recoup your original investment?

Cleaning With Eco-Friendly Products vs. Grocery Store Products

A few years ago, I made a deal with my husband, Doug, – if you are going to watch football all day, you have to do the laundry.  That was over 6 years ago and now he has grown very particular about how the laundry gets done.  He will make sure all the laundry is done prior to when Alma, our house cleaning person, comes on Thursdays.  Doug is brand loyal.  We used Tide for an HE washer, Downy, and Bounce.
