Excerpt from CHAPTER II: A PRINCIPLE-BASED PARADIGM
“Stillness is your essential nature. What is stillness? The inner space or awareness in which the words on this page are being perceived and become thought. Without that awareness, there would be no perception, no thoughts, no world.
You are that awareness, disguised as a person.”
~ Eckhart Tolle
In this chapter we will lay the foundational structure of how thought creates our experience of reality. Once this is grasped, a fundamental perceptual shift is then available to us, allowing for conscious choice.
Human beings are thinking creatures, and we are consistently creating our experience of reality through choice, choosing which thoughts we give our attention. What we pay attention to is what we think about, and what we think about is what we experience, and eventually what manifests.
We are all therefore masters of our experience of life. The critical difference which emerges from grasping the impact of the role of thought, is that one becomes consciously masterful in choosing which thoughts one pays attention to, hence choosing one’s life experience.
Personal thought is the point at which the Formless becomes form. …
“Thought is a divine tool, nothing more, nothing less, only a tool….Thought is the creative agent we use to direct us through life.…Thought is not reality; yet it is through thought that our realities are created.”
~ Sydney Banks
